History: An ally of Batman and other heroes, Jason Blood is a puzzle wrapped in an occult enigma. An occult investigator by trade, Jason is not what one would call a typical resident of Gotham City. While appearing to be older than thirty-seven years, his eyes tell a very different story. Once a nobleman and knight in the Court of King Arthur, Jason Blood has lived for centuries, cursed by Merlin himself to share a soul with the hell demon known as Etrigan (Merlin's half-brother). Once the lover of Morgan Le Fay, Blood was instrumental in the final fall of Camelot. As a punishment for his role in allowing LeFay safe passage into the castle - Man and Demon were bound into one vessel, granting Jason a practically immortal lifespan.
Jason has resided in Gotham City for the last eighty years. He has seen empires crumble, loved ones die and has outlived those he knows many times over. It is a solitary exisitance, but it is his own burden to bear for the terrible crimes he committed against his king and country.
Abilities, Strengths, Weaknesses: Blood has the ability to call forth Etrigan at will with the use of an incantation. Where Blood is polite, Etrigan is testy and often blunt and rude. The Demon has no social graces and speaks regularly in rhyme. Jason himself - in addition to his role as an occult investigator - is an expert marksman and swordsman. He has trained in hand-to-hand combat and is adept at magic. He also has limited precognition and telepathy.
Etrigan has the advantages and limitations expected of a demon. He has above superhuman - mystically enhanced - strength to the degree that he can stand against other powerhouses like Superman as well as a high degree of resistance to injury. The Demon can project hellfire from his body, usually from his mouth. He has a very high command of magic: other powers include mystically enhanced fangs and claws, enhanced senses, super speed, agility, telepathy, energy blasts and precognition. He has a sadomasochistic nature which allows him to enjoy pain as if it were pleasure, making him generally fearless in the face of combat and torture. His healing factor can handle an incredible amount of damage, allowing him to recover from wounds that have removed large sections of his body. However, like most demons he has a weakness towards Holy powers and iron. Etrigan's command of magic is strong but considered to be less than his father, Belial, and half-brother, Merlin the Magician.
